Time Travel

Not backward or forward, I’d travel
to see how time looks from outside.
Who cares how the present unravels
goes backward? And forward, I’d travel
to see mountains ground down to gravel—
depressing. I’ll step cross-divide,
not backward or forward. I’d travel
to see how time looks from outside.

It's short but it packs a punch! I love it when new ideas tickle my brain!

It took me two or three reads to realise what a clever piece this is! Excellent.

A nice take on the prompt. And thinking about it, if you could be 'outside' time you'd see it all in no time.

I'm learning to be depressed by forward, too. Grin. Very nice piece!

I am still thinking on this one!

Mm...now that's a different perspective...as an observer...sounds like "God"...whom I think he has missed out on the fun of time travel. Thanks for sharing the thought.

Reading this post, I remember a song with the lyrics:

"I look at clouds from both sides now . . .

I look at life from both sides now."

Indeed, how better it is for us to get out of all these and just watch. It's good to really just sit down on the fence and watch both sides.

I wish you well.

Very nice. Thought provoking indeed!

One thing it made me think of was a dance. You know how when you are learning a dance and they call out the steps, "one, two, sideways, step, one, two...". That's what this was like, "step cross-divide, not backward, not forward, but outside...". I know, silly me! ;)

that we could visualize time all at once... that's creative... and spoken so well...
