A Postcard from God

A sepia postcard blew down the sidewalk
and settled at my feet like a sparrow.
I picked it up and read: Remember.
Suddenly the clouds were full of
choreography and music
and I remembered
forgot
remembered again.
Poised now in the gap between
remembering and re-remembering
I rustle my sepia feathers and flutter
at your feet.
