Road Chains

They say it would be safer not to go there,
that's why the road is closed with heavy chains.
There might be avalanche or ice or snow there,
they say. It would be safer not to go there,
and anyway you'd have to take it slow there.
But I will make it, though the fact remains
they say it would be safer not to go. There:
I'm on the road; I've got my tire chains.

--for Poefusion's title prompt Unchained Roads. This response is sort of backward. And yet not.

And it won't be long before we will need those tire chains again. Well done. Have a nice night.

When expectaions are realised, it pays to make preparations.

You do such a great job with this form! The repetitions are barely noticeable and enhance the meaning each time.
