Earth-Shaker, Father of Horses

It seemed that Poseidon
trembled in his sleep and shook
his bed. The walls of the world
quivered; water raced
around the globe in silent hills.

No horses came forth
from the water this time;
the straining froth birthed only
flopping fish. No chariot
raced through the shallows.

He sleeps again. The Bull
stays quiescent at his feet.
For now.

Love this line: "the straining froth birthed only
flopping fish." Such great images.
