Looks Like Summer, Feels Like Fall

So we had a couple good days of rain and everyone said "yeah, summer's over."

But you feel it a whole different way on a day like this. Cloudless blue sky. Brilliant sunshine. It looks just like summer.

Then comes the moment that a gust of west wind swirls down the street, and yellow leaves fill the air. And your foot stops an inch above the sidewalk and your bones know: Fall.

Horse chestnuts shine on the sidewalk at my feet.
