Novel update

Thought I should post an update: The rough draft of the novel is finished, alhumdulillah. As of Saturday, Dec. 22, solstice day.

It was an intense and exhausting experience. I blogged about it here if anyone's interested. I still have a lot of editing to do: I plan to start that Jan. 1, to give my brain time to recover. But the bulk of it is there: 117,000-plus words.

In the meantime, insh'allah I'll manage to write some poetry. Lately I just have not had any spare brain cells.
