Strawberry Seedlings

trays of strawberry seedlings
lined with newspaper and packed with soil
by a little boy’s hands
stacked in the market cart
by a man’s strong arms
lined with pages torn from yesterday’s
obituary section
where an old man's face stares up
into black dirt

A very vivid and poignant image... is this something you'd seen or something imagined? The idea of the dead man's face staring into the dirt is very powerful.
