I like Christmas so much better

since I became a Muslim.

Because, in spite of the rampant commercialism. In spite of the stressful expectations. In spite of the (in Portland) usually lousy weather. There's still something at the heart of the day: a remembrance of God.

It doesn't matter that, as a Muslim, my view of the nature of Isa (peace be upon him) is different than that of a Christian. He comes as God's representative, God's messenger to a forgetful world. I own a later edition of the same message; that doesn't make the earlier one invalid.

So, God bless us, every one; peace on earth; Merry Christmas.
