Wind off Water

There's no outlet from these desert basin lakes.
Streams come here the way souls fall into the world
to die, and rise as morning mist clouds,
rain destined for gentler lands.

Wind off water is cool in summer
and warm in winter. Always the temperature
of a past or future season. Always the voices of absent friends
and unborn children.

Available! High-Voltage Lines, Knocking from Inside
