Scrap Metal Man

Cruise my street in an old Dodge truck
I put ‘em out and you pick ‘em up.

Bent tent poles and dented pans
Busted locks and old tin cans
Meat and drink for the scrap metal man.

Offer me cash for a worn-out stove
I’ll buy new stuff but I can’t buy love.

Rusty springs and busted knives
Clothing hooks that have lost their eyes
House and home for the scrap metal guy.

Next time come and knock on my door
Take my keys, I don’t live here any more.

Can openers and auto parts
Wrought-iron fence around a broken heart
Toss them onto the scrap-metal cart.

Available! High-Voltage Lines, Knocking from Inside
