Wagon Wheels

Beloved, forgive; I've been too long from Thee.
Now daylight finds my footsteps homeward bound
The doors once shut, now open stand for me
The path I'd lost, once more through grace I've found.

My caravan companions on the way
give thanks to know that the long night is past
and joyfully go forth to greet the day
that sees our journey harbored safe at last.

A journey ends. Another one begins.
The wagon wheels that turned will turn once more.
New sails are spread to run before new winds
to seek our fortunes on some newer shore.

Whatever comes, however far we fare
when we arrive, we're sure to find Thee there.
