More About Dinosaur Feathers

You heard it here: the fossil record shows
that dinosaurs had feathers. This despite
the old, established "everybody knows
that they were reptiles." Recently, a fight
came up about this evidence: they claimed
the fibers to be collagen, not fluff.
Proponents of the reptile theory blamed
pro-bird "ideologues" for stupid stuff.

Science gets things done. It isn't pretty,
personalities and vitriolic
arguments in journals refereed
by peers. The road to truth is long and gritty,
process sometimes ragged and shambolic,
but we get the answers that we need.

Fascinating... I'll have to read that article. (Very true, about the rocky road to truth.)

"we get the answers that we need"
sounds...scary.

Does science lead us to truth?

Nicely constructed poetry.
