Orange lines

Submitted by me to the Orange Lining project. This is why I love Portland. Public transit, public art, public poetry.

1. These towers hatched from a suspended steel egg!

2. Riverbank haunted by ghosts of old factories.

3. Sing the names of streets: Water, Steele, Lake.

4. Pass carefully by Ladd's spiderweb of streets.

5. Sister, brother: old trainyards salute new tracks.

6. A black bear ambles across the golf course.

7. Waste areas between streets, home to wildflowers.

8. The county line is not marked on the earth.

9. I sing the electric lines charged full with souls.

10. A high-water mark still rings these trees.
