The winners and honorable mentions for the Tranquil Relief through Nature project are now available as a chapbook.
I can't believe Steve and Constance call this a chapbook. It's an extravagantly beautiful piece of work, hand-bound, with transparency pages separating the sections and drawings by Steve as well as the artwork from Studio Art Direct.
It's fairly radical for Kaiser to be using local poets, ranging from well-known to completely obscure, as public art. Typically one would find "famous" poets in such a setting. I wouldn't object to Rich and Whitman in a hospital lobby-- who would?-- but actual community art? Damn.
