The grass waves like a fan:
"See how I make the wind blow!"
The tides wash the sand:
"I draw the moon down low."
The moon shines bright,
on grass and seashore, wind and sand
but knows that his is borrowed light.
Who moves this hand?
Iron and magnet fight
each claiming: "You are at my command."
But they are drawn together and cling tight--
who moves this hand?
Fire under earth
Magma moving deep, deep under the land.
Islands rise from the sea in molten birth,
who moves this hand?
Fire in the sky
A million stars and worlds like grains of sand.
Each asks this question and gets the same reply:
who moves this hand?
