Wind From A Dream

I'm dreaming a dream with my eyes wide-open
breathing the breeze in the bright light of day
waking and sleeping, slumber unbroken
wind in the window wandering away.

Wind in my sails, white linen leaning
full of salt air and rhythmical sway
sweep of the deep over deep sleepers dreaming
wind-tilted sails stream with salt spray.

Salt-water, white-capped, runs before wind
covering coral where porpoises play
Too bright the sunlight for sleeping eyes, dimmed
by stinging salt water, by drowning of day.

Wind for the dreaming. Wind for the waking.
Sails on the breeze at the dawn's bright breaking.
