On this deck an old man drags a chain
huge and heavy, like Marley's
made not of money but regrets.
Another old man shakes a piece of string:
"I didn't do too bad, at eighty-three
to be only stuck with this."
A child, a very young child
skips and plays about the deck
for she has brought no baggage at all.
