Ice Lullaby

Today the hills are full of frost and fog,
black-water ponds edged with celadon ice.
Snow hangs heavy on the hemlocks,
wild geese sleep on the breast of the river
and overhead hawks hover
circling the still center. The falls are frozen,
singing in the silent voices of ice.
Hear them, hush! hear:

God bless the rain. God bless the sun.
God bless the wind. God bless the earth.
God bless the day that gave us birth,
God bless sleep when that day is done.

Great MM poem!

Frost made me think of the Winter Olympics for some reason. My MM post focuses on some little known factoids about the frosty olympics!
