The Monday Poetry Stretch offers a bouts rimes exercise. The end words are: hour, tower, thought, fought, hand, grand, teem, dream
Lightning struck, less than an hour
ago, and felled the mighty tower.
No-one guessed. None could have thought
the final battle would be fought
so soon. That this, my humble hand
would end an empire terrible and grand
and scatter armies that marched, teeming
across my sheets while I was dreaming.
