Two great prompts in one week:
Halloween at Inspire Me Thursday
Hospital at Sunday Scribblings
the patient-relations officer said
“nothing scary or death-related we have to be careful of the feelings of people who come here to visit or people who come to be treated we have to comfort reassure think of the kids”
am i going to die
the doctor said
“what I’m busy put up whatever you like no I don’t have time to help get that crepe paper out of my way”
am i going to die
the chaplain said
“no pagan symbols no witches devils goblins sick dying people should have their minds on God and thou shalt have no other and if we’re going to talk about death I’m by God the only one who’s allowed to raise the subject and thou shalt have no other”
am i going to die why won’t anyone tell me
the nurse said
“hey this is a hospital you’ll go crazy working here if you can’t take it with a sense of humor yes it’s gallows humor but any kind of humor helps even the dancing skeletons in the osteopathy ward and the Lex Luthor masks we gave the chemo patients”
am i going to die
i’m not afraid of cardboard and plastic and people in witch robes that’s not what i’m afraid of i’m not afraid of halloween i’m afraid of this place and the smell of disinfectant and sickness and the white coats the white coats not the masks the white coats
try to be a patient patient
the cardboard jack o’lantern winked and said
this is my holiday so i’m the messenger
yes... you’re going to die... someday...
but not today, OK?

Haha whew, just great :) I loved it.
Ya Haqq!
oh, I like that very much. Sometimes it feels like it is more about the place than it is the people.
That's good! I was expecting something visual so this was a cool surprise.
Fantastic! That was so well done!
spooktacular! Creepy, funny, scary and real as real can be. Great!
But what about another day? I guess it's good that it's not today.
Delightful, and great representation of both hallowe'en and hospitals!
Well done!
This really stimulated my mind - I loved it. A busy hospital does not have time for punctuations... great stuff.
Excellent poem for the season.
what an excellent post!! Loved it.
I loved it, wonderful writing. Happy MM:D
I love the image of the dancing skeletons in the osteopathy ward.
Thanks for sharing this with us.
cheers,
mo
Great MM post ... you are quite creative!
There were many directions to go with this week's MM words Trick or Treat. I chose to go with Trick and my MM post this week tells a different story about Black Magic.
peace, Villager
I really enjoyed that, very witty
