metaphysically prophetic... very nice....
Not as depressing as it could have been. For some reason it actually seems almost peaceful.
the final line is wonderfully written - the whole haiku is great but I particularly like 'be distance' which is wildly provocative.
I, too, love the way you used "distance" because it's unusual and makes me think! Very poetic!
I like the message and the image you chose to complement it.
Just a perfect and hauntingly lovely haiku on death. And the O'Keefe painting is just right to go with it :) I think this is your best haiku, and that is saying a lot.
