In Response to a Previous Correspondent

Totally Optional Prompts is reprising the "Letter to the Editor" idea. So I've written a rebuttal to the piece I wrote the first time, which was Avian Graffiti.

Dear Editor: I’m writing to protest
this letter you claim authored by a bird, of
unknown provenance. Return: A nest?
You must agree that such a thing's unheard-of.
Not to mention, that bizarre request
to drape our civic monuments in yellow
rubber raincoats! Surely this is just
the brainchild of some urban-studies fellow
studying the attitudes of city
dwellers toward their urban wildlife: feral
cat and dog, raccoon and pigeon, squirrel.
True, our public parks are rather... gritty
after rainless days of heat and smokes--
but pigeon-apologia are a hoax.
