Clarity

I’d like to master clarity
like glass or crystal, ice and salt,
these lattices grown flawlessly.
My thoughts are laced with cracks and faults

like glass or crystal. Ice and salt
melt into water, give up form.
My thoughts are laced with cracks and faults
as glaciers when it’s getting warm

melt into water. Give up form,
surrender will. Be soft as snow,
as glaciers when it’s getting warm
accept the downhill drift. I know,

surrender will be soft as snow
and lattices grow flawessly.
Accept the downhill drift. I know
I’d like to master clarity.

when you master that, write a book on how you accomplished it so I can buy it as to accomplish the same.
'Cause I've the clarity of a well trodden mud puddle.

I am experiencing the best sort of envy in wishing I had composed that line. Clarity is elusive. Good luck in your pursuit.

The culmination of your last four lines work so perfectly. Really, really nice.

Beautiful poem, you've certainly mastered the form. The final stanza is a gem.
