Frozen Slice

A photograph is nothing but a slice
of life in frozen time. I could devour
it. Feast of memory. The spice:
a photograph. It’s nothing but a slice
of paper, just an empty dead device.
Without the memory of that living hour,
a photograph is nothing. But a slice
of life in frozen time, I could devour.

Why I just wrote a piece using the "moment frozen in time" words but meaning exactly opposite your writing! I love how differently we all see the world. Regardless your writing was top-notch fierce and raw! Great post.

You never disappoint! I have often described photos and poems as being frozen moments in time - as compared to moving pictures (video or movies) and narrative.

"Feast of memory." You have a way of capturing sentiments of so many things. This is my favorite poem so far of yours.

Beautifully written. I was beginning to disagree with

A photograph is nothing but a slice
of life in frozen time

Then I read

Without the memory of that living hour,
a photograph is nothing

very true!
