Evening swallows the whole day
and morning swallows the night
at high latitudes. Charcoal gray
clouds like pillows of white
eiderdown billow over the deep.
Drifting in timeless semi-daylight,
drifting in shallow water-like sleep,
unclocked, chimeless and half-bright:
the sun parallels the horizon
and dwells on the edge, never setting
nor ever really quite rising.
Time flows so freely here, surprising
me with its easy looseness, forgetting
time-trapping nooses of human devising.

Isn't it nice when we can forget those things of human devising for a bit and see the beauty before us? Thanks for sharing your vivid poem. Have a nice night.
Nothing to do and all day to do it in - luxury!
love the line 'charcoal gray clouds like pillars of white' I know it goes on but just these words alone speak volumes to me.
Perfect! Love the words and the thoughts this piece engenders!
I like the subtleness of your rhymes! Wonderful words in here, too!
I am reminding of the image of the snake swallowing its own tail. I enjoyed your internal rhyming.
