Immaculate Deception

These poor wasps—
they try to kiss the dotted lips
of orchids. But the blossom flinches
and they're ejected. Clots of pollen blemish
their immaculate chitinous armor.
When the lady wasps arrive they
pout and turn away: "You.. and those flowers...
that's so cheap."
