Vinegar sunshine catches on thorns
of light that prickle off the river
brilliant fever in a flash of silver
caught between passing storms.
Vinegar sunshine and acid rain
spill from a sky-framed mansion
whose cloud-walls shiver with tension
releasing thunder and a sudden flame.
