Well, this is an elite company of
enthusiasts drawing together,
all ready to shoulder the burdens
of the sundered world.
Just like Hercules kneeling on the stones
thigh muscles swelling to take
Atlas' load. But that was deceit—
the poor simpleton fell for it.
Someone has to take the brunt,
let it be these fertile imaginations
that froth with answers to questions
most of us haven't thought of.
And if they hand us back the world
we'll know not to take it on again.

Excellent use of the words
From Therese L. Broderick -- Great voice in this poem -- an underling bemused with the folly of power-holders whose oversized egos match their foolishness.
good use of the words and a wise commentary!
I like the irony and the way you used the words effortlessly, seamlessly
Timely and, yes, it's still going on. Isn't it. Wonderful piece.
The modern conversational tone is a great way to use the words, esp. with meaning.
