All right, God; here we go again
dragged kicking and screaming. At least I know better now
than to think I can resist. Not that that stops me
from trying.
Goodbye comfortable inertia:
I'm back on the road through hell and high water
in a cold and rainy spring looking ahead
to a desperate summer--
broken hearts, burning world,
rivers overflowing. Shoulder to the wheel
leaving footprints in the ashes.
I'm widening the field
and adjusting the load:
forward.
