I walked away from the funeral in grey drizzle—
“of course we’re sad, but she had a good life”
“it’s wonderful that her family had time to be with her”
“very few people can die with so few regrets”
—at the corner a sudden dazzle turned the streets to sheets of glass
and left me blinded by tears.
