December sunshine

It always feels a little fragile. Bracketed by days and weeks of rain, overcast, fog; somewhere ahead, the possibility of snow and ice storms. The need to get outside and enjoy this little, unexpected slice of dry weather while it lasts.

Of course, the need for outdoor recreation has never been greater than it is this year. And I, and all of us, are feeling exceptionally fragile.

The news on vaccines is light at the end of the tunnel. At the same time, the inside of the tunnel has never been darker. Just because you can see the light doesn't mean you should drive like the tunnel is empty.

Instead, go for a walk with your mask on, and enjoy the sunshine while you can. There are still some long, dark months ahead.
