Homeless in Paradise

He says that it’s all right, warm weather every day

Sometimes get free leftovers from the restaurant across the way

The big old banyan tree keeps the worst of the rain away.

A man froze to death in Chicago, he says that he saw on the news

He thinks he’s got it lucky, though it’s not what he would choose

Sleeping on the streets in paradise, you still get homeless blues.

I went by the park today and the fellow did not show

Asked if someone could tell me, but nobody seemed to know

‘Cause the whole damn park was buried underneath the lava flow.

When paradise burns to the ground, where do the angels go?

When paradise burns to the ground, where do the angels go?
