I often revise poems slightly after posting... but this revision is substantial enough that I think it deserves its own post.
Shattered rubies gleam and glitter,
scarlet fragments scattered
like spattered drops of blood or bitter sorrow.
Better days tomorrow.
Gathered fragments welded, melted, melded
scarlet liquid blended, poured in mould
shattered rubies mended and made whole.
