Shattered rubies gleam and glitter,
scarlet fragments scattered like spattered blood
scarlet drops of bitter sorrow.
Better days tomorrow. Gathered, melted, fragments melded
blended scarlet liquid poured in mould
shattered rubies mended and made whole.
