Last night the south wind rattled round my house
rain rolled in and hid the horizon
blurring boundaries, rendering distance uncertain.
I move slow and tentative
through familiar rooms, like someone
newly waked from sleep.
Where are my limbs, my hands
where is the end of me? Dissolving
into rain, into the world
like a tired raindrop into the arms of the sea
with the tiniest splash, a sound
most like a sob
a sound most like a sigh--
Bismillah.

Hey, thanks for sharing this with us. Puts life back into perspective, doesn't it?
Wow, that's really cool. That dissociation (disassociation?) that we all feel from time to time. Nicely phrased!
I like the idea of dissolving into the dark!!
i like this one Tiel - there have been times when i've felt very much like this - like i've woken in a surreal place and all things familiar now feel awkward and unfamiliar, most especially my own skin.
