As music starts to play I see the blocks
of tenements in geometric shapes
fall from the grayscale sky with seismic shocks.
Nowhere to run. Cannot find the escape
key. Rotate next one clockwise-there's a gap-
but people tumble from their windows, yelling,
upside down while tangled curtains flap.
Who knew that Tetris blocks were people's dwellings
and apartments could be flat? They're stacking
up, like uncollected garbage cans
and threatening collapse. My nerve is cracking.
They're falling faster. Music sets the pace.
I can't wake up, or slow the notes down. Man,
I hate these nightmares, stuck in Tetris space.

I love it! You should borrow the photo that I found online, which really does look like blocks dropped from above. Look at the two levels of blue blocks and see the SPACE between the blue and the yellow block below it ... which looks to me like the blue apartments didn't fall quite far enough into their appointed space! Isn't that just the weirdest thing? I love what you wrote, and I can imagine Tetris doing that to you.
that was beautiful, very moving. you have a great pen masha Allah.

Reading this again today, I realize I should have left the URL here so your readers can go see the photo of the buildings crowded together. Here it is:

"stuck in tetrus space"
That totally transmits the feeling!
