zipped back and forth
as if the air were ripped and they were stitches
between the stippled cattail-tips. Spangles
of sunlight caught on angles
in the tangled cobwebs dangling
from the shingles on the shed-roof,
gemmed the hemlocks and the cattail stems
like flipping coins, or silver bangles
or dipping dragonflies.
