I love how you hang overhead
like shelter. The idea of shelter
shaped like a little yellow house.
I love how you glow at night,
like someon’s porch light or fireside
where an adult holds a child’s hand.
Hovering guardian, protector, I saw how
you dripped with rain all day, the rain
that couldn’t wash clean the street.
